Home Comforts On The Road

There's nothing quite as exciting as hitting the road in your motorhome. The miles of undiscovered road lie before you blank, and full of possibility. Planning your trip allows you to build up a picture and is the start of the journey. But, although the road carries new memories, it is always comforting to take a little bit of home with you wherever you go.

We've compiled a list of the ultimate home comforts to take on the road with your motorhome. With this lot you and your family will feel a sense of 'Hygge' (Danish for cosy) wherever you go.

YOUR
DUVET

It'll look, smell and feel just like home. Your own duvet from home will have the correct toggage to keep you at just the temperature you like, and it'll add a touch of homeliness to make everyone feel comfortable. If you're struggling for room though, consider investing in some Duvalay pillows and covers. They're award winning luxury covers that combine a bottom pocket of memory foam and a top pocket housing a duvet.

FAIRY LIGHTS AND
TABLE LAMPS

The warm twinkle of fairy lights creates an intimate and homely feel that also brings a certain ambiance to any room.

A motorhome can feel like a sterile environment, but adding some homely portable lights softens everything and brings a warm glow.

CUDDLY
TOYS

If you're on a family holiday, you absolutely must be sure that children, no matter how young they are, get to snuggle up with their cuddly toys.

Even teenagers may find that they crave this reminder of home, particularly when you are on a long journey.

FAMILY
GAMES

If the weather is bad and you've decided to have a night in, a games compendium might just be your ultimate life saver. Playing games such as scrabble, snakes and ladders or cards can really bring a family together and are great for bonding. Too often these days we are all guilty of hiding behind our screens, and a motorhome holiday can be a great place to reconnect on a purer level.

A GOOD
BOOK

As we've said, the weather can be very changeable when on a motoring holiday.

By making sure you always have something to read, you can transport yourself into a comfortable, homely place.

DON'T FORGET
YOUR Hot Drinks!

Tea bags, your favourite coffee and a kettle is all you will need for that one home comfort you cannot go without! To add warm buttery toast to the mix, a low power consumption toaster should definitely be considered.
